Extreme Deployment Guides
The following guides explain how to combine various ExtremeCloud IQ and IQ Engine features to accomplish comprehensive network objectives. Several series of deployment guides are currently in progress. One for K-12 education is nearly complete and another for retail has been started. The large campus deployment guide, while not aimed at a particular vertical, is applicable to any large Extreme deployment and is extensive in scope. Additional guides focus on certain topics such as user authentication, mesh, and PPSK, as well as Extreme Networks solutions such as Social Login and HiveSchool.

Additional Guides
Extreme Channel Selection Protocol
This guide introduces ACSP (Extreme Channel Selection Protocol) and explains how it works.
Hierarchical HiveManager Configuration Guide
This guide explains how to enable and use HHM (Hierarchical HiveManager). It includes instructions for adding organizations, viewing data and configuring objects in different organizations, adding and reassigning devices to organizations, generating reports, and more.
Using RADIUS Attributes to Assign VLANs Dynamically via HiveManager Connect
HiveManager Connect does not support the assignment of multiple user profiles to different users authenticated through RADIUS on a WPA2-Enterprise/802.1X SSID. However, even if you cannot assign multiple user profiles via RADIUS, you can assign multiple VLANs via RADIUS. This short guide explains how to do this when using HiveManager Connect and RADIUS.
Extreme Networks Point-to-Point Mesh
This guide explains how to connect the networks at two sites across a wireless backhaul mesh link using AP245X access points with 60° sector antennas.
IQ Virtual Appliance vSphere Configuration
This document provides information on setting up the vSphere virtualization environment to deploy and run IQ Virtual Appliance. The configuration instructions in this guide are based on vSphere ESXi 6.0 and vCenter 6.0.
This guide explains service and device PPSKs, how they work, and how to configure them. Learn the various ways to create service PPSK users based on the role of the people creating them: ExtremeCloud IQ administrators, guest management administrators, Active Directory authenticated employees, and even wireless network users themselves (through self-registration).
Extreme Networks Security Guide
This guide covers Extreme Networks security from hardware features built into Extreme Networks devices to ways that control, management, user data, and administrative traffic are protected. It summarizes the security precautions for ExtremeCloud IQ and ExtremeCloud IQ Online Classic and explains how Extreme Networks devices can protect the network from DoS attacks, network reconnaissance, and rogue APs.
Extreme Networks WLAN Best Practices Guide
This guide is a collection of best practices for deploying and configuring Extreme Networks APs. It includes topics such as channel widths, cell sizes and cell overlap, target data rates and basic data rates, load balancing, client capacity, and more. By considering the principles and recommendations presented here, you can take fuller advantage of the unique characteristics of wireless and the rich features Extreme Networks makes available in its products.
HiveManager Discovery through DHCP
This guide explains how to provide the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) or IP address of ExtremeCloud IQ for Extreme Networks APs and Extreme and Dell EMC switches by configuring vendor-specific DHCP options on two common types of DHCP servers: a Linux ISC server and a Windows DHCP server. Informing Extreme Networks and Dell EMC devices about the FQDN or IP address of ExtremeCloud IQ is necessary when using IQ Virtual Appliance on premises because its location will change from site to site.
Extreme Large Campus Deployment Architecture Reference
This guide serves as a reference for the products, features, and components that can help you optimize the provisioning and configuration of devices for an Extreme Networks wireless LAN deployment in a large campus.
